Sophrosyne Birth offers pregnancy and postnatal yoga classes in Solihull area. Pregnancy yoga classes are the perfect way to strengthen, release and nurture your body throughout your pregnancy and are the ideal way to prepare your body and mind for the birth of your baby.
All the yoga postures we practice are suitable, modified for mums-to-be and new mothers. Pregnancy yoga classes are run in four week cycles, each week focusing on a different area important for preparing your body for birth and to support recovery once your baby has arrived. Pregnancy yoga is suitable for ladies in the second trimester from around 16 weeks of pregnancy.
In our postnatal mum and baby yoga classes, we focus primarily on mum, on her recovery and relaxation but incorporate some lovely gentle stretches for baby too. These sessions are suitable for ladies 6 weeks after a normal vaginal birth, 12 weeks after c-section.
As both a pregnancy yoga teacher and experienced hypnobirthing practitioner, classes will incorporate hypnobirthing breathing and relaxation techniques which are invaluable during pregnancy, labour, birth and for life as a new mum.
