I organise and teach at UK and international yoga retreats, run classes, workshops and teach one to one yoga from a variety of locations including Swindon and Bristol. My approach to teaching yoga focuses on working in a gentle and intelligent way to free the spine, releasing tension, practising mindfully, encouraging the body and mind into asanas, developing stamina, strength and flexibility, all whilst creating an inner stillness and calm. I like to work in an authentic way, being true to the practise and honouring the roots of yoga.
My yoga journey started with a personal practice at the age of 17 and continued two years later living and travelling in India. Here I had the opportunity to learn and practise in yoga ashrams in a traditional way and at its very source. As an experienced Massage Practitioner, trained in London and Hawaii, it wasn't long before I realised that the many benefits of a regular yoga practise could help the various problems my massage clients were presenting. This led me to my yoga teacher training in 2000.
I use my combined experiences of massage and bodywork, anatomy and physiology to support and inform my teaching of yoga to suit all ages and abilities, practising asana, pranayama, mindfulness and meditation. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy introducing people to the many benefits of getting the yoga habit. I create a warm, friendly and supportive environment in which my students can feel relaxed and comfortable to enjoy their yoga journey.
