Macramé originated from Arabia during the Moorish conquering, knotting spread and popularized around Europe. The macramé knotting uses combinations of different knot technique to generate unique patterns and textures. These days you will find all kinds of items made using macramé knotting techniques. It was initially used for decorative ruffles on shawls and other kinds of textile. Macramé items innovated from plant pot holders to lovely curtains. And it’s also a very common technique used for accessories and jewelry. On our travels, these macramé knotted bracelets are just one of the many items we grab in some of the Buddha Boutique we passed by. These were bought along with the roadside local sellers. We came across various interesting items and met a lot of good artists on our trips abroad. Here in Yogahub, we like meeting interesting people and we also love buying unique craft pieces made by a local artist! It’s a match made in heaven indeed.
Meaning of Lotus- The lotus signifies rejuvenation, wisdom, and cleanliness of thoughts. Its flowers bloom from soiled waters, rising up from the surface. The large bloom of petals symbolizes a level of awareness of oneself. The petals grow from a central pod along with the long stem which rises above the water. Inside these pods, you will find its seeds, which have wide significance in religion and culture. Especially to most eastern religions, including Buddhism and Hinduism.
