CANDLELIT YIN YOGA
TUESDAYS CLASSES @ The Snug Art Cafe in Green Lanes 19:00 > 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th April
Relaxing and restoring Yin Yoga classes in candlelight that will make you sparkle.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a deep, meditative and calming practice. Candlelit Yin Yoga is the perfect way to end your day. The candlelight will help us slow down and still our minds.
Yin Yoga classes consists of a series of long-held, passive (still) and seated floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. Unlike vinyasa based yoga, Yin yoga postures – asanas – are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.
When holding a pose for a longer period of time you give your connective tissue enough time to relax in to the pose and your body will release in to the asana. Yin yoga is great for the mind, but also great for flexibility, relaxation and overall well-being.
Benefits?
As you’re releasing all this stagnated energy you might feel a little happier in the morning, be a bit more flexible on the dance-floor and after a few sessions you might start to sparkle.
** YIN & YANG CLASSES**
All our classes are yin, practised on the floor and with long held poses, but the second class each month will be a bit more upbeat. So if you like the longer held poses in Yin but not the deep meditation and long relaxations – you might like it just a tiny bit more Yang- then this class is for you! Slightly different music will help to calm even the busies mind without the panpipes.
** ADVANCED CLASSES**
The classes are open to all levels, but the last class each month is a advanced class with longer held asans ( Up to 6 minutes) and less guidance trough the practice. This (almost) silent class will bring your awareness deep within you.
You can find more detailed information about each class on the website.
Please be ready on your mat 5 minutes before the class starts, give yourself some time to relax. The door locks at 7pm when the class starts.
