Michael’s Yoga
Yoga Teacher in Greater London, England
I have been teaching hatha and restorative yoga at Friends Meeting House – SW2 3LU – for thirteen years.
I work with older members of the local community. I help them with flexibility, breathing and strength.
The classes are £10 and are fairly relaxed. The Friends Meeting House is a lovely, light and open space.
Give me a call or send me a message about class information. Look forward to hearing from you.

After 20 years of a stand on your head yoga class ( which I did not attempt) I joined Michael’s class and made much more progress. I have a lot of arthritis but I can manage and enjoy his class. If you have aches and pains this is the class for you once or twice a week. Friendly, relaxed.
When I retired I knew I needed to expand my horizons and be more active. I found Michael’s yoga class on Monday mornings and it really sets me up for the week. I have been regularly attending for nearly 9 years now. I always come out feeling refreshed and energised. Michael tailors the class to our abilities with each class being different. As the saying goes “motion is lotion” and this really is the case. I always enjoy the class, and the discussions over coffee afterwards are always interesting and lively. I am so glad I found Michael’s Yoga as I know my body and health is very grateful that I did.
I can wholly recommend Michael’s yoga class, as a recipient of advancing years, but thanks to attending the sessions and Michael’s teaching, I don’t feel like one!
It’s a gentle class, mindful of our various physical restraints, unpressurised, and friendly. A degree of humour helps (from all of us!), and definitely no one in leotards!
Hello!
My name is Michael too—though I’m definitely not the teacher! Far, far from it.
I’m 64 years young and have been coming to Michael’s yoga classes (usually on Monday and Friday mornings) for about ten years. Apart from walking, it’s my main form of regular exercise.
The classes themselves are wonderfully relaxed and informal, and there’s a great social side to them as well—a group of us usually head to the local coffee shop afterwards. Everyone is always welcome to join.
Keeping my flexibility as I get older has become really important to me. I’ve finally learned that how I move today shapes how I feel tomorrow, and I truly believe Michael’s yoga is key to my long-term health and wellbeing.
We’d love to have you join us. Why not give it a go?
Mark and I have been going to Michael’s yoga since the beginning. We are both retired and love Michael’s gentle non-competitive style. The other members of the class are very friendly and we often have coffee together after a session. We are so lucky to have found a style of yoga that keeps us going week after week. At our age it is so important to to maintain strength and flexibility. No two lessons are the same so we never get bored. Michael is a very empathetic teacher. I think he also does take classes that are slightly more challenging, but that would not work for us! Kristin
