Pregnancy yoga with Katia

Yoga Teacher in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex

A typical class comprises of specialist postures, breath awareness, mindfulness, meditation, soundwork (mantras), positive affirmations and deep relaxations (yoga nidra) aimed to release any preconceived fears or anxieties about birth.
The classes give students the opportunity to voice their symptoms and benefit from a tailor made class integrating exercises to suit their needs. The classes are very soothing, calming and restorative, encouraging mother to connect deeply with baby in the womb. Students are taught how to find freedom through movement, learn techniques such as practice contractions, postures for OFP (optimal foetal positioning), exercises to strengthen pelvic floor and improve posture.

A regular practice of pregnancy yoga enhances energy levels, well being, stamina and strength, as well as deepens bond with baby. A weekly practice will empower and inspire students to fully “trust in their bodies” to birth as naturally as possible. The variety of techniques explored in class are designed to ensure students feel fully prepared, calm and in control along their maternal journey, during birth and beyond . The classes also provide the opportunity for students to form
long lasting friendships within their yoga community.
