Yoga with Sarah

Yoga Teacher in Highbury, Islington

I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years, during which time it’s transformed my life, mind and body. I have experience with many different styles of yoga having practiced Hatha, Ashtanga, Jivamukti and Hot Yoga, but the style that I connected with most was that of Vinyasa Flow which is predominantly what I teach.
I enjoy inspiring others in their yoga practice, whilst recognising that everyone’s journey in yoga is different and it is important to accommodate this when teaching.
For me as a teacher it’s also really important to focus on alignment, so I ensure that plenty of instruction and supervision is given to all students to ensure they’re doing a pose safely and effectively.
My classes feature a unique sequence of poses each week that are energising, dynamic and strength building. Classes always include a guided savasana (relaxation) practice and often pranayama (breathing exercises) in addition to movement through asanas (physical postures).
I completed my 200-hour teacher training qualification at Shakti Power Yoga in Hammersmith in 2014 and I’m a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance UK.

This accreditation demonstrates excellent standards as set by Yoga Alliance UK.

I’ve been featured in the London Evening Standard and National Geographic’s Traveller -Luxury Collection after teaching classes on the iconic Tower Bridge walkway in London.
I’m also passionate about environmental issues and alongside my yoga teaching I also work in the sustainable food sector, currently at Growing Communities – where our aim is to creating a more sustainable, re-localised food system.
I try my best to live by a mantra of ’compassion for all beings and care for the environment’.

I also have a keen interest in health and nutrition and worked for a number of years in the Health & Beauty department at Whole Foods Market.
