Rachel has over 15 years' experience in musculo-skeletal health, as a Registered Osteopath and Medical Acupuncturist and has practised Yoga for over 20 years.
She set up Yoga Therapeutics to share this knowledge with other teachers and therapists wanting to work more therapeutically. Her Yoga workshops offer anatomy, physiology and pathology insights, with liberal dollops of Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and evidence-based medicine (EMB).
Rachel originally trained in Kerala with Sivananda, and has continued to study with Birthlight for pregnancy yoga, and Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs with Alison Trewhela. Her living Yoga inspirations are Donna Farhi, Judith Lasater and Desiree Rumbaugh.
Rachel is particularly interested in making Yoga enjoyable and accessible to all. Obviously spinal health is a passion, and with Rachel's combination of approaches and expertise, she is happy to assess/reassess complex cases, from yoga teachers/therapists who would like a second opinion/diagnosis or treatment.
Rachel is the first teacher in Derbyshire to be running the Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs course. A second daytime class will start Wednesdays in June, and a Saturday class in September.
Rachel's articles have featured in Yoga for Health and Om magazine. She has presented at the Yoga Show and is available for workshops around the UK.
