Welcome to my Yoga page. Dru Yoga is known as ‘Yoga of the heart’. It is rooted in Classical Yoga and is a life enhancing practice that is suitable for all. It is a gentle yet powerful yoga that enhances strength, mobility and joy for all, in subtle ways. Each class begins with Activations: these free up the joints and the muscles, which in turn helps stress from affecting the internal organs. We then perform an Energy Block Release sequence. These are unique to Dru Yoga. They are wonderful sequences that help release tension in the body, freeing up the joints and the spine and enhancing energy on all levels. We alternate with pranyama- breathwork and meditation. We end with a long, deep relaxation. Bring a blanket for this and wear warm comfortable clothes. I have been attending Cathy’s Dru yoga sessions regularly on Fridays for about 3 years now. As a primary school teacher, I find it a great way to unwind after a hectic week and love the free-flowing movements which gently release tension and re-energise my aching body! Cathy is a skilled Dru yoga practitioner with a caring, spiritual approach and is a truly brilliant teacher. We always finish with a short relaxation and this is a really wonderful way to end the session. I highly recommend this Dru yoga class.
