Caroline has been a yoga teacher for about 28 years. She teaches Scaravelli Yoga interwoven with Meditation through Deep Rest.
Her approach is not a method but a deep, kind, spacious settling into life through the body, an orientation towards wholeness and ease. There is no focus on attaining postures and much focus on care, releasing habit energy, challenging our impulse to fix and mend, impose and push so that we can give ear to the intelligent of the body. We find the postures from within, rather than forcing shapes upon the body. The practice is an unravelling, opening inner eyes the presence of a person in their body.
She is based in Harberton, about 3 miles from Totnes, South Devon. Across the lawn from her home is The Yoga House, a beautiful, clear space surrounded by fields where she offers weekly classes, one-to-ones, days and retreats.
She also offers retreats at Bala Brook, a beautiful retreat centre on the edge of Dartmoor and further afield, including a yearly weekly retreat in a stunning location in the heart of the French Alps. Also always open to new suggestions.
She is also happy to travel to teach groups of yoga teachers and their students when invited.
'It really is an honour and a pleasure to share what I love and to experience people's trust and witness all the ways they benefit and transform. I have know some of my students since I started teaching. There is an atmosphere of friendliness, intimacy and commitment in the classes and on the retreats. I try to work hands on as much as possible with each student'. Caroline
'I have been practising with Caroline since she moved to Devon 15 years ago. Each practice brings new joy of discovery, a moment so deep within mind and body that leads me through life with a balance that is my constant companion.' Angela
