About Monday Evening Yoga in Woodingdean

Start 2024 by coming along to a friendly Mixed Ability weekly Hatha Yoga Class on Monday evenings from 7-8.30pm (term time) at Woodingdean Primary School.

Please join me for 75 minutes of time dedicated to your personal well-being. In each session we use awareness of breath in movement, seeking to allow integration of both body & mind. The physical practices aim to improve strength & flexibility & to promote a greater sense of ease both on the mat and in your daily life. I offer modifications where appropriate, encouraging you to take responsibility for making the Yoga practice one that benefits your personal needs. As this is a Mixed Ability class, unfortunately it is not suitable for absolute beginners but please do email or call if you have any questions or are not sure if it’s right for you.

This is a beautiful class for relaxing replenishing yoga. I always feel good leaving the class. All abilities are able to do the postures without feeling that it is too difficult as modifications to the postures are given. I would rate this class as 5 star and excellent value for money.

I have been practising yoga with Maureen for many years. The class is intimate and allows for all abilities. Maureen always allows for injuries or disability, making the poses easier on individual needs. A brilliant class which leaves you feeling stronger and more flexible.

Maureen is one of the very best yoga teachers I have come across. I love the way she explains how a yoga posture should feel rather than getting us to copy how it should look. Her focus is on building strength and working with your body. The class involves a mixture of floor work, posture work and relaxation, and it is welcoming and relaxed.

These yoga classes are fabulous! I think this is mainly due to 3 simple reasons: Firstly the amazing teacher Maureen- I’ve been to a fair few yoga classes over the years and I haven’t felt as comfortable as I do with her. She makes you feel very confident to try things and gives you various options to match your ability. She’s very aware of students’ strengths and weaknesses. Secondly the nice group of students- you feel relaxed amongst them and there’s no vibe of showiness or pretentiousness. And thirdly the location, in the primary school hall- it’s warm and welcoming… Read more »

I love this class – Maureen is really welcoming and inclusive and it’s not at all intimidating. I have a leg injury and still get stuck in and really enjoy it. People of all ages and sizes and we work hard and have time for relaxation at the end. Thoroughly recommend

A friend suggested that I try Maureen’s yoga classes as my spinal arthritis couldn’t cope with ashtanga yoga anymore. I thoroughly enjoy the classes, wonderful relaxation and not a twinge of muscle spasm afterwards.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Maureen’s yoga classes for many years and now travel from Hove to attend. Maureen is extremely welcoming and provides a very personal touch which includes adapting her class to people’s individual needs. I would highly recommend attending this class.

I cannot describe how much I live for this weekly session. My mind, body and spirit feel better after starting this course a year ago. Every ailment in the class, of which, we have a few! Maureen tailors everything to our individual ability and after my ankle injury I thought I’d never be able to do yoga again. Come along

I’ve been attending Maureen’s yoga classes for a number of years and they never fail to be restful, replenishing and satisfying week by week. I’ve felt enormous differences in both body and mind, and her practices have become essential to my wellbeing. The class feels positive, relaxed and comfortable with a very friendly atmosphere.

This is a wonderfully nourishing Hatha yoga class. Maureen is deeply thoughtful and skilled. It really is 75mins of complete dedication to your wellbeing in every sense. Personally as someone who experiences joint pain and depression I always leave feeling a huge improvement in both my physical and emotional wellbeing. I sleep better on Monday nights, and noticed better flexibility as the weeks go on. Maureen has an incredible way or remembering everyone’s limitations and tailors poses sympathetically so you never feel out of your depth and always feel the benefit. It’s also incredible value for money, and if you… Read more »

Maureen’s class is lovely- so welcoming and inclusive and I always feel really restored after practice.
Maureen encourages you to focus on what your body needs in the moment of the class; thinking about how postures feel rather than perfecting how they should look.
Classes are varied and allow you to challenge yourself with any of your own limitations – Maureen is always ready to help adapt postures to accommodate any issues so everyone is catered for. Highly recommended!

Maureen is an excellent teacher, I’ve been coming to her class for over 2 years and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. The class is suited to all abilities, nobody gets left out, she tailors the session to meet individual needs. I always come away feeling calm and relaxed and the class is essential for my physical and mental well-being.
