About Ashtanga Yoga Connection
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, active form of Yoga based on a combination of poses ”asana”, movement and breathing ”ujai”. The origins of which are can be traced back to the 2 nd Century BC.
The aim is to focus on yourself and by a combination of concentration, breathing and movement to promote harmony and balance of mind and body.
The ”Starting Ashtanga” class lasts for 1 hour and includes a series of standing, sitting, and lying down asana poses all linked together with movement between poses and emphasising ujai breathing.
This class is for all levels and is aimed to provide a full introduction to the basic asana poses in Ashtanga Yoga.
The more advanced half primary and full primary series include over 100 poses and classes last for 90 minutes.
Benefits of Ashtanaga Yoga include: increased flexibility, reduced blood pressure, better balance, muscle tone and posture, weight loss ,increased cardio vascular capacity, stress relief and detox
Suitable for all levels: lessons last for 1 hour for ”Starting Ashtanga” classes up to 90 minutes for half and full primary classes
