About MamaHugz Pregnancy yoga Richmond , St Margaret’s

MamaHugz Pregnancy yoga has been created to indulge and evoke the senses with the addition of doTerra aromatherapy and carefully curated music playlists which I can offer to you for your own birth.

Each MamaHugz Pregnancy Yoga class includes yoga postures, pelvic floor exercises, breathing techniques for pregnancy and labour and deep relaxation exercises to calm the body, mind and emotions. A time to strengthen the bond between you and your baby.

Classes are a happy mix of women at different stages of pregnancy and with varied experience of yoga.

All poses are clearly demonstrated and designed to help you feel your best as your baby grows. We also practice useful poses for labour and birth so that they become familiar, comfortable and easy to use instinctively in labour.

Breath awareness is an important element of each class and we focus on variations of the breath and traditional pranayama to calm the busy mind. This equips mothers with a powerful tool to stay grounded and focused during labour. We learn how to employ the breath to release fear, tension and difficult thoughts.

Each pregnancy yoga class ends with a deep relaxation and a quiet moment to feel at peace with your growing baby, a cocoon of love and calm in our busy lives. You will have the opportunity to experience a taster of the amazing benefits of Hypnobirthing as I read a different positive birthing script each week during this time.

Class is suitable from 12 weeks pregnant right up until baby arrives depending on each individual.

There is no need to have any yoga experience to join the class and necessary adaptations can be made.

Yoga mats, lavender eye masks and pillows are provided however I do encourage you to bring your own mat, if possible.

My classes are upbeat, nurturing and friendly. With music playing and lots of warmth and good humour. A fantastic opportunity to meet other ‘mummies to be’ and start building your community.

I look forward to welcoming you to MamaHugz Pregnancy yoga. After a very challenging year, I embrace you with an open heart and open arms .

I’m so pleased I joined MumaHugz pregnancy yoga classes. I’ve tried yoga a few times over the years and it’s never been my thing so I was sceptical pregnancy yoga would be any different. How wrong I was! The classes have given me time to truly relax and connect with my baby. I leave the classes feeling calm and empowered. Having suffered with anxiety in pregnancy this has been hugely beneficial. I’m now approaching my due date and feel ready for birth with a bank of positions, flows and affirmations that will help me have a positive birthing experience no… Read more »

I’ve really enjoyed Triona’s MumaHugz pregnancy yoga classes. The classes have been brilliant so far – both in terms of physical activity but also getting to meet other pregnant women in the area which is nice. The classes are incredibly welcoming and supportive to new mums to be.

I really enjoy attending the MamaHugz pregnancy yoga class. I’ve found its such a lovely time to connect with my bump each week and get to meet other mums to be. The class is a perfect mix of mindfulness and physical movement and I love the aromatherapy aspect too. I would definitely recommend them, thanks Triona!

Wish I had joined Mamahugz earlier; it was such a wonderful weekly opportunity to switch off all the hubbub & tune into baby&me & appreciate the experience of pregnancy. Loved meeting the other mums-to-be & sharing this quiet, restorative time together. Feel really connected to my baby during and after the classes & immensely relaxed! Love the eye mask meditation at the end which has allowed me to tune into my body shared with my baby, more that I would ever do by myself. Can’t wait to bring baby to a class in the future!
