Ashtanga Yoga with Ben Lawley

Six mornings a week you can learn traditional Mysore style Ashtanga with Ben Lawley at Down To Earth Yoga, 129 Fortess Road, Kentish Town NW5 2HR.

Ben Lawley is an authorised level 2 Ashtanga teacher, with the blessing of Sharath Jois (the world’s most advanced practitioner) to teach the primary and intermediate series which is granted to serious students of Ashtanga. Ben offers private lessons as well as teaching regular led classes and Mysore self-practice sessions in Ashtanga yoga. These are tailored to suit you whether you are an experienced practitioner with a wealth of experience or a complete beginner. The practice offers physically challenging training which can also be used as a tool to develop spiritually as well as physically.

Ben teaches the morning Mysore class at Down To Earth Yoga, 129 Fortess Road, Tufnell Park NW5 2HR. You can come and start practice any time between 6.30am – 8.15am (please finish by 9am) on week days. On Sundays class runs between 8.00 – 10.00am. Mysore practice is open to complete beginners as well as established students who wish to develop their practice. Mysore style is the traditional way to learn the authentic Ashtanga yoga system. In a Mysore class each student arrives and starts practice at their own pace. Ben is there to provide adjustments and support, teaching additional postures when you are ready. The practice can grow organically – from a short morning wake up session – evolving into an intense physical and meditative journey through a garland of postures interlinked by flowing ‘vinyasa’ movements.
