Karen Smith teaches Iyengar Yoga in Harpenden.
Yoga practice both relaxes and energises the body and mind. It develops vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm. Iyengar yoga focuses particularly on precision and alignment in postures. It uses specially designed props to allow you to practise postures safely, whatever your flexibility or fitness level.
These general classes will help strengthen and tone your muscles; build energy; and calm your mind.
Karen Smith has been practising Iyengar yoga for over 20 years and qualified as an Iyengar teacher in 2005. As a teacher, Karen aims to guide, support, develop and challenge her classes.

I cannot recommend Karen highly enough. Her Thursday evening Iyengar Yoga classes are the highlight of my week. Karen is a confident, knowledgeable and personable teacher who makes you feel comfortable whilst challenging you to push yourself further.
Lovely small class with a great, informative teacher. The class is perfect for beginners and this form of yoga is really accessible regardless of ability. Very reasonably priced.
Karen is an excellent teacher of Iyengar Yoga. I had been practicing Vynyassa Yoga for a year before going to one of Karen’s classes. All of Karen’s classes start off with quiet sitting down and relaxing. They always finish with relaxation as well. If you can’t manage a pose then Karen will help by using different props (chairs, tables, walls or blocks to sit upon).
