When I first came to yoga, I was running on empty, had terrible digestive problems and experienced inflammation of my joints due to an autoimmune disease. I was in a job that I dreaded going to every day and suffered from bouts of anxiety. Yoga really helped to turn all of that around. To me it is like a ancient form of cognitive behavioural therapy that not only works on a physical level but also a mental and emotional one too.
Yoga has taught me that nothing need stay the same, that we all have the power in us to make small changes and it is true that with a little bit of practice, you will start to notice positive changes to body and mind.
I am currently available for private 1:1 and corporate tuition in Midlothian and Edinburgh, so I invite you to come and discover the joy of yoga for yourself. The style I teach is a mix of dynamic yoga where we link the breath with movement combined with longer held poses that build strength and softening. I weave in safe physical alignment, abdominal work that connects you to your strength and specific poses to aid the body in releasing tension in stress prone areas such as the neck, shoulders, hips and back. Added to that I fuse philosophy and intent into each class, leaving you feeling empowered to move through life more effortlessly on and off the mat.
Private sessions can be with one or two individuals and are tailored completely to your own specific needs and desired outcomes. Expect to be challenged yet nurtured as we journey playfully through this practice that is both healing and life enhancing wherever you're at right now.
