Hatha Yoga Classes
All my classes are suitable for all abilities. The class aims are to help you learn to relax and take some time out for yourself. The poses are suitable for complete beginners and progressions can be introduced when you are ready. The session always ends with a lovely guided relaxation to help reduce stress and anxiety.
Weekly Hatha Yoga classes 9.30am-10.30am at Coatham Church Hall, Kirkleatham Street. Redcar This is £7
I also have an online timetable which is held on Google Meet for 45 minutes per class @ £4 per class

Janice is a wonderful yoga teacher, I have been going to her classes for nearly 3years now and her gentle teaching methods have literally changed my life, I can highly recommend her classes for both beginners and experienced yoga students
Really good class, Janis takes time to check everyone is ok with the exercises.
Janis is a serene and amazing teacher who is delivers to groups and individuals. She adapts her sessions to accommodate all ages and abilities.. Coaching all to achieve within their abilities. As someone new to Yoga, I appreciate the individual approach within the group sessions. Feel so very relaxed and sleep like a log after a session.
I have been enjoying these classes for many months now. There is an easy pace but with purpose. I find the poses effective and believe I have been improving as a result. The ‘end’ relaxation is lovely. There is no pressure.
So , how do you review a ‘teacher’ who has literally bent you in two ? From a complete yoga novice, adverse to exercise in any shape or form, as never enjoyed it as a youngster or an adult, always giving up on any fad after one session at the gym. Janis is a gentle, lovely person and fantastic yoga teacher. I have found her classes to be so beneficial for my CFS/ME symptoms which include not only fatigue but also insomnia and pain in my knees and lower legs. Janis enables you to go at your own pace and your own ability, suggesting alternatives to poses when appropriate for you. Yoga has changed my life and Janis has been the right teacher for me. Highly recommended!
I’m a new to Janis’s classes but this has never been a problem .I found her open ,friendly and supporting . Her skill in guiding me to each position and having fun in my attempts ,even if I can not always reach each position is empowering .
Janis is a lovely yoga teacher who puts you at ease and makes you feel so relaxed. Her classes are very friendly and Janis will help everyone reach their potential without any pressure. I would highly recommend her classes for yoga, relaxation and general well-being.
I have enjoyed Janis’s yoga classes for the last 18 months. She is an amazing teacher and was very patient with a complete novice. Her classes are always a pleasure and have made a massive difference to my flexibility and balance. They are very inclusive and friendly to people of all abilities and the relaxation at the end of the class is wonderful.
If you want a kind caring and professional yoga instructor who will treat everyone the same regardless of ability and fitness look no further. Janis is truly wonderful all her sessions are amazing and she always does her best help every one with their aches pains and limitations without feeling self conscious. Best decision I made to join her classes, I’ve recently joined the yoga/meditation class too and it’s so fab relaxing and you learn a fair bit about yourself too. £5 a session a bargain for such a good instructor you won’t be disappointed.
Janis put my mind at ease when starting the class a few months ago. I have arthritis and a bad hip and limited flexibility but Janis helped me to go at my own pace and my flexibility has improved and eased the pain in my hips. I absolutely love the class and credit to Janis for being so lovely and an expert at what she does. She brings out the best in people. I attend Janis yoga and relaxation class on Thursdays at the Retreat in Marske and it is wonderful. Feel amazing during and after. Highly recommended!! Xx
I really enjoy the Tuesday yoga class with Janis. I find it very relaxing and calming and it has helped me to de stress a lot. Janis is very pleasant, calming and helpful. She advises you about which exercises to be careful with or avoid if you have a particular health condition. She takes an interest in every class member. I think the yoga classes are great and would highly recommend them and great value for money too. Teresa Allan
Yoga Day
I took part in the Yoga Day lead by Janis. She organised the day really well. The yoga was wonderful. We were introduced to new poses by Janis which challenged us, but under her guidance, we were able to do them to our ability. A great sense of achievement! Hand massage, in the afternoon, was warming, relaxing and a lovely experience. The day ended with meditative yoga which brought to a close an amazing day. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and would highly recommend it.
A lovely relaxing Sunday with Janis learning meditation, yoga and massage. From the beginning of the day Janis put you at your ease and you leave feeling totally chilled and relaxed having met lovely people and learnt/tried different relaxation techniques. I would highly recommend anyone to try this full days training, Janis is a lovely, calm lady who can make you feel wonderfully relaxed and gives you confidence to achieve your goals. x
Janis’s yoga classes are the best I’ve been to. She just seems able to bring calm no matter how stressed you might have been before you turned up at her class. The stretches & strengthening exercises are suitable for anyone at all – you just go as far as you are able. Can’t recommend enough.
I find the online zoom yoga classes extremely beneficial to my health and mental well being as we are going through these difficult times. It is easy to log on and join in (I do mostly mornings) and a 35min session sets me up for the day.
Janice is amazing and such a gentle soul. As a beginner to yoga she was always there to guide you with the movements and make sure you are comfortable before moving on. In lockdown and social restrictions we moved to beach yoga which was amazing and is now offering yoga nidra which is a godsend for switching off busy minds. Thank you
