About Susananda Yoga

My yoga style incorporates slow, mindful, holistic Hatha and yin yoga asanas, mindful movement, breathing techniques, relaxation, visualisation, meditation and energy work.

I welcome students of all shapes and sizes, as well as with varying levels of physical fitness. Recognising the importance of looking at each unique body. No two human bodies are exactly alike, hence yoga cannot be taught in a uniform way.

I lead yoga practice that is empowering; helping you to help yourself, by understanding how your body moves and what affects that movement. Focus is on stability before flexibility.

I aim to support those who are struggling with fatigue, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, body image, weight management and many other chronic health challenges to:

  • reduce pain
  • sleep better,
  • gain greater ease of movement
  • increase flexibility and strength
  • calm the nervous system
  • develop a better relationship with their body

and more.

Completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training in Vinyasa flow with Frog Lotus Yoga International in April 2016

50 hours of Yin Yoga teacher training with Bernie Clark in February 2019.

Committed to continuing Professional Development to learn and develop as a yoga teacher, pranayama, functional anatomy, yoga Nidra, meditation.

Registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals and recognised by this organisation as an Experienced Yoga Teacher (EYT).

My yoga path follows a 33 year career in the NHS; In health service management positions and direct clinical nursing.
