Sunmoon Yoga follows the path of Hatha Yoga, which involves the practice of Asana (physical postures) and Pranayama (breathing techniques), along with relaxation and meditation. Practising this way over time gradually builds strength and flexibility in the body, is purifying and cleansing, and brings peace to the mind and freedom to the soul.
Classes focus on correct alignment in postures whilst emphasising awareness of breath to bring mindfulness to every movement. Each week, classes revolve around a central theme, which may for example, focus on particular postures or perhaps a certain part of the body. No two classes are the same, although we repeat practises to gain mastery over them. The teacher is the guide to encourage each student to learn from their own experience.
