I am a YAI certified yoga instructor and ayurvedic yoga therapist.
I teach Ashtanga yoga Thursday evenings and Vinyasa flow Monday mornings and Slow vinyasa flow or Yin yoga Sunday afternoons.
Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga are dynamic yoga styles, which link the movement to the breath. Both classes string poses together to make a sequence but while Ashtanga follows the same sequence of poses, Vinyasa flow uses varying sequences chosen by the instructor. These classes are ideal for you if you prefer challenging yoga classes or fitness workout, but beginners are always welcome as well as there are multiple modifications available for each posture.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga, consists of a series of long-held (1-5 minutes), passive floor poses that primarily affect the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissue of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence.
