SAM Yoga is for everyone... Beginner or experienced yogi you will find a warm inclusive welcome.

I am a 500-hour certified British Wheel of Yoga teacher and certified Special Yoga for Special Children teacher.

My general sessions are based on the hatha style of yoga, where you will be guided through a range of postures, mindful movement, soulful sequences, breathing and relaxation techniques all interwoven with yoga philosophy to inspire empowerment and self-confidence.

Special yoga for special children encourages each child to fulfil their potential and purpose. These sessions aim to provide a sense of empowerment, to find connection and to grow a community amongst families.

Each child is unique and each week can bring it’s own challenges; and therefore every special yoga session is also unique. A special yoga session is intuitive, working with the child's own energy and capabilities on the day. The focus of these sessions are not about how many yoga poses may or may not be achieved but more about how grounded and relaxed the child feels during and after the session. A variety of massage, chanting, postural work, breathing, relaxation and restorative techniques may be used depending on what is appropriate for the child physically and emotionally on the day. These sessions aim to support each child to feel safe, grounded, embodied, comfortable in their own skin, calm and connected.
 
I've trained under Special Yoga to share yoga with children and young people (ages 4-25) with special and additional needs, including autism and ADHD, Fragile X Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, PMLD and other learning, developmental and physical challenges.

Sam is a fantastic Yogi, her knowledge and understanding of yoga is incredible, her classes have improved my posture, flexibility and strength, both my speed and agility in rugby are significantly improved, my power in the gym is far better than before and I can now touch my toes!! Sam’s classes are perfect for me as a complete beginner, really able to accommodate all levels in the class which makes it really inclusive. Sam’s relaxation is the highlight of my week, it’s very rare I get to de stress so Saturday mornings can’t come quick enough for me!

I love Sam’s yoga class! I have always had difficulty with yoga due to having hypermobile joints. Sam has been fantastic in correcting my positions to ease my joints. Its a great way to unwind after a stressful week at work.

I have found Sam’s yoga sessions highly beneficial in so many ways, they are a wonderful stretch in the morning, they really help my posture and core strength, and, most importantly, they greatly contribute to my mental health and wellbeing. Sam is a great teacher and getting a free coffee at the end of the session is superb bonus and the whole thing is a fantastic way to start a Saturday!

I have been attending Sams classes at Biddenden for nearly a year now. My initial motivation for starting yoga was to improve on my flexibility and strength. Sam is a supportive and kind yoga teacher. She gives clear instructions and always designs her class with the participants in mind – taking on board and welcoming suggestions / areas of focus from participants. The small class sizes allow Sam to give attention and guidance to anyone that needs additional support or assistance (which has helped me correctly adjust my posture).
