About Kyra Yoga
Hello,
I started my yoga journey when my mother took me to a local yoga class when I was 18 years of age and I continued to practice throughout my adult life, especially in stressful times (which were many!). Eventually, burnt out in my early thirties I left my busy marketing job, packed up my flat and moved to India to study and practice yoga full-time passing my first teacher training (in India) in 1999. Two years later, I returned to London and embarked on three years of training for the Internationally recognised Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training, passing both levels in 2004.
As an experienced and dedicated Iyengar yoga teacher, I continue to study with Senior Iyengar teachers in the UK and abroad and regularly attend intensive yoga courses in India and Professional Development Programmes in the UK. In 2012 I spent a 12 months in India studying with my teachers. In 2008 during another yoga sabatical, I was honoured to study directly with the Iyengar family in Pune (India), whilst there, BKS Iyengar turned the grand age of 90, I was invited by the family to attend his I birthday celebrations and blessings which was a fantastic and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
If you’re unfamiliar with the different styles of yoga don’t worry about the logistics as in India they have a saying ‘same, same, but different’ and, and it is my belief, that yoga is yoga. It is accessible to everybody, all ages, shapes, sizes and people from all backgrounds, everybody can experience the wonderful benefits yoga has to offer.
Join me on the mat and see for yourself what yoga can do for you.
