About Yoga Tree of Life & Massage

Our teaching method is unique because it is structured around these 3 key areas:

1.) A unique focus on body alignment, precise instruction and adjustment
Some of our students come to us with existing injuries or health problems such as stress-related issues such as insomnia & anxiety, physical pain such as lower back, shoulder or knee aches, and digestive disorders (to name just a few!). Our style of yoga can help alleviate and heal your health conditions by giving you certain postures to practice which empowers you to take responsibility of your own wellbeing. Our teaching gives you a thorough understanding of how to safely come into, stay in and come out of each yoga posture.

2.) Developing strength, balance and flexibility
Yoga isn’t solely about how flexible you are – it is about developing an equal measure of strength, balance and flexibility. We work to develop strength in the limbs and the core by holding the poses deeply and for a longer period of time than you do in most flow yoga classes. Flexibility comes through holding the poses and breathing deeply into the postures to open and lengthen the muscle tissue. The more strength and flexibility you have, the more balanced you become. The three work in harmony with one another.

3.) Offering a space for deep relaxation
We sometimes incorporate Thai Yoga Massage techniques throughout our classes in order to help our students release and open, so that they are able to go deeper into their practice. At the end of each class we guide our students into Savasana, a pose which encourages deep rest, awareness and relaxation of body and mind.
