About Dawn Bailey Yoga & Therapies

My personal yoga journey began 20 years ago when I was fortunate to have my very first class with the internationally renowned Simon Low. I studied with him at The Yoga Academy, recognised to be one of the best yoga schools in Europe.

Yoga is an immensely powerful and simple means of exercise, healing, self-discovery and transformation. It strengthens your vitality, helps overcome internal and external obstacles; with sleeping and digesting better; maintaining a more balanced emotional and mental state to ultimately experience life.

In class we work with gentle vinyasa, learning how to move with fluidity and ease whilst keeping the mind focused on the rhythmic flow of the breath. We also work with static postures helping you find balance of strength and release within the body. Working with a variety of themes and ideas to include different sequences such as Sun Salutations and the “Flying Dragon” sequence. We explore pranayama (breath work), chanting and subtle anatomy, helping students deepen their practice and understanding of Yoga.

The Restorative Yoga class on Monday evenings is a perfect balance and complement to dynamic practice. It combines nurturing, passive poses and breathing practices, often held for as long as 20 minutes, with the help of props such as bolsters and yoga blocks. The aim is to encourage a feeling of deep relaxation and the letting-go of held tensions in the body. It replenishes and restores.

It is ideal to heal the effects of stress, anxiety, fatigue and recover from illness or injury, to balance energy and quiet your mind. This “less is more” approach engages our parasympathetic nervous system which takes us into a healing state, in which we can experience rejuvenation of the body and mind.      1-2-1 sessions and small groups of 4 available also a my yoga space in Rustington.

I highly recommend Dawns yoga sessions. I turned up for her ‘drop in’ class (I hadn’t contacted her in advance so she didn’t know I was coming) and discovered a very friendly welcoming group. Dawn took us through a number of postures clearly describing how to move and with helpful guidance as to how to make the most of each one.. The room has a great atmosphere and unusually not only are the mats and blocks provided but also blankets and eye pads for the relaxation session at the end of the class. Thank you Dawn a great experience .… Read more »
